The Student Welfare Parliament in Bergen (Norway) is is the topmost student body in the Student Welfare Organisation in Bergen, Norway. It is an association of all the student democracies affiliated with the Student Welfare Organisation in Bergen. There are 21 representatives in the Welfare Parliament.[1] The Welfare Parliament in Bergen was founded October 7 1997.[2]

The purpose of the Welfare Parliament is to give students in Bergen a common voice on matters regarding student welfare.[3]
The parliament is responsible for distributing the part of the semester fee that is reserved for student culture, student media and student sports. Further more, the Welfare Parliament elects half of the board members in the Welfare Organisation, including the Chairman who has the casting vote.[4]
The local student democracies are responsible for electing their own representatives. The number of representatives from each democracy is decided by the size of their respective institution.[5]
All students who are associated with the Welfare Organisation may attend, speak and make propositions in the Welfare Parliament. All students are also electable to any position the Welfare Parliament elects to.[6]
The Welfare Board is the Welfare Parliament’s executive body.[7] The Board for Cultural Affairs is the Welfare Parliament’s executive body on matters regarding student culture.[8]
